So, inspired by Rob and Damia’s awesome work at Transit Authority Figures, I decided to design a subway map of Albuquerque, the place I’ve called home for about the last five years (but will be leaving soon). I know Rob and Damia and reached out to see if they’d be interested in partnering on this, and they declined but said I was welcome to pursue it. So: yes, I totally ripped off the idea, and much of the visual vocabulary. Planning the routes and laying out the design was still a royal PITA.
If you’re interested in actually getting a print of this (or better yet, selling prints of this in your fine retail establishment), let me know. Right now it doesn’t exist in a physical form but I would love to get a sense of demand and see if I could get some printed up affordably.
UPDATE: Pondering the possibility of trying to print this via a Kickstarter campaign. Curious: how much would you be willing to pay for an 18 x 24 poster of this?
UPDATE 2 (3/28): I’m going to get this up on Kickstarter as soon as I can, hopefully within the next 5 days or so. I anticipate the price will be $15 for one delivered 18″ x 24″ print. If you want to be notified when the Kickstarter campaign goes live, please email me at email@example.com. Thanks!
